Macau’s international visitor arrivals at 1,341,605 for first seven months of 2024, up 122% year-on-year by Pierce Chan Tue 13 Aug 2024 at 19:15 www.asgam.com/index.php/2024/08/13/macaus-international-visitor-arrivals-at-1341605-for-first-seven-months-of-2024-up-122-year-on-year/Macau recorded 1,341,605 international visitor arrivals from January to July this year, representing a 122% year-on-year increase and recovering to 68.1% of the same period in 2019, according to provisional figures released by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO). The tourism agency also revealed that the SAR welcomed a total of 3,028,000 visitor arrivals in July with a daily average of 97,683 – an increase of 9.7% compared with the same period in 2023 and back to 85.8% of July 2019. According to the provisional figures for July, visitor arrivals from 1 January to 31 July inclusive amounted to 19,748,000, up 37.1% compared to the same period in 2023. The MGTO recently stated that visitor arrivals had moved above 20 million for the year in the first days of August. Visitor arrivals for the first 12 days of August exceeded 1.48 million, with a daily average of about 124,000, and on 10 August a high of 154,542 visitors entered Macau. According to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), the total number of visitor arrivals in the first half of this year (January to June) was 16,719,983, up 43.6% year-on-year and back to 82.4% of the same period in 2019. Of these, the total number of international visitors was 1,168,622, up 150% year-on-year.
