I've been an LVS investor since '08, having first become involved at around the $6 level on the rebound from that year's lows. Up until about a year ago, it was at least possible to get some useful info about the company from visiting the LVS board on Yahoo. But not any more. The problem is that Yahoo does not give board participants any reasonable refuge from the "yahoos" of the world.
As someone with administrative experience on the ProBoards system for over ten years (most recently, as admin of the GMCR Community Coffeehouse), I decided to create this board as an alternative venue for the civil exchange of information and opinions on LVS the company, LVS the investment and anything that relates to the casino sector.
This is a moderated board; I and my staff of dedicated, first-rate co-moderators assist with keeping the peace. However, if you're here to discuss LVS in a reasonable manner and not to spam the board or to pump or bash the stock, you'll never have to worry about being "moderated".
While anyone can view the main "All about LVS" forum, the OT forum and a few others, only registered members may post. Registered members also gain exclusive access to some additional "Members only" forums that guests are blocked from viewing. So, please register if you'd like to participate in discussions and/or have access to additional resources such as the "Other Stocks" forum. Registration is free and there are no approval hoops to jump through (just an email verification process; your email address will never be used for spam or provided to any other parties.)
By participating in this board, you implicitly agree to all terms and conditions as outlined in the board Disclaimer.
Please be sure to read the board rules, which (along with the Disclaimer) are accessible via one of the links near the top of the home page. One rule that will be enforced without exception is the rule against posting publicly concerning any moderation actions performed by the staff. If you have a complaint, take it up with the staff directly via the private messaging facility. You'll find the staff willing to discuss issues with you in that manner, but posting your gripes publicly would simply get you warnings, vacations and ultimately a ban from the board.
For a list of useful tips and tricks on use of the ProBoards message board system, see my Hints post (accessible via one of those links up top of the home page, and in the Resources forum.)
PRIVACY WARNING: Please be aware that there is a Profile Privacy setting that lets you select whether or not to make your email address public to other regular members. To keep your email hidden, BE SURE that you configure your email visibility accordingly. To edit your privacy settings, click on "profile" at the top of the page, then select "Edit Profile", then "Privacy".
NOTES TO YAHOO MESSAGE BOARD USERS: First, note the ProBoards system provides the staff with the ability to ban by IP address, along with other criteria. Thus, a person cannot just keep creating new IDs every time they get banned. I hope everyone appreciates the significance of this vis-a-vis the Yahoo boards. Second, political rants will not be tolerated anywhere on the board; this forum exclusively for discussion of issues relating directly to LVS. Posts on politically-related topics where there's an obvious direct connection to LVS (e.g., Sheldon Adelson's activism) are the only possible exception, but the staff will keep a tight reign on such threads.
I sincerely hope we can all make this a vibrant, civil and informative forum for LVS investors (as well as for potential investors)!
